Edwin Kaminski Sr
Edwin Kaminski Sr., 93, of 7595 Merryland Drive, Rosholt , died January 21, 2010 at St. Michael’s Hospital.
A Mass of Christian burial for Edwin will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Polonia, with the Rev. Marcin Mankowski officiating. Family and friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of mass. The St. Isadore Society of which Edwin was a long time member will lead a general rosary to be prayed at 10:00 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in his name at a later date.
Edwin was born July 28, 1916, in Rosholt, to the late John and Mary (Ksioszk) Kaminski.
On May 10, 1941, he was married to Loretta R. Zynda. After living in Chicago and Milwaukee, they owned and operated Merryland Ballroom in Rosholt from 1951 to 1973. Edwin was also employed as a mason at Ellis Stone.
Edwin enjoyed fishing, gardening, feeding and watching the birds. He was also meticulous about maintaining his lawn and flowers.
Survivors include one daughter Diane (Ronald) Engelbert, Appleton; four sons, Michael (Joan), Rosholt; Norman (Malinda) Rosholt; Kenneth (Rene’), Rosholt; Alan (Harold Fix), Chicago; a daughter- in- law Christine Kaminski, Rosholt; two sisters, Rose Schrader, Milwaukee; Theresa Hullin, Stevens Point; two brothers, Hubert (Frances), Stevens Point; Raymond (Joan), Sturgeon Bay; thirteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Edwin was preceded in death by his wife, one son (Edwin Jr.), his parents, two sisters and three brothers.
