I taught with Bill for many years at SPASH. I was a sub in his card group on occasion. Bill was fun to be around. He may have been quiet, but his words were always well-thought out - and sometimes, just a tad caustic. One had to listen carefully. My sympathy goes to the family on your loss.

Bill was one of my closest friends for the past 50+ years. We traversed many trails together from the shores of Lake Michigan, to the duck swamps of the Mississippi, the walleye waters of the north country to the goose range of the Horicon. We played many a game of chess and bluffed each other through years of friendly poker games.
We also worked together for a good portion of that time in the halls and on the athletic fields of SPASH. He was a fine teacher and department leader with innovative curriculum vision. He leaves a legacy of many well served students.
I will miss Bill greatly. Marge and I offer our deepest sympathy to you Marliese and whole Vogel family.
Till we meet again ole friend and you call a game of Criss-Cross!
