Michael Janiszewski age 76, of Stevens Point, passed away at Marshfield Medical Center in Weston on Sunday morning June 6, 2021, surrounded by his loving family, after a long battle with cancer.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mike will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday June 10, 2021 at St. Stephen Catholic Church. Rev. Jeffery Hennes will officiate. Friends and family will gather to share memories from 4:00 - 8:00 on Wednesday at the Shuda Funeral Chapel: 3200 Stanley St. A general rosary will be prayed at 6:30. Visitation will also be held on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of services at the church. Burial will be at the Guardian Angel Cemetery at a later date.

Mike was born May 15, 1945, in Stevens Point, the son of Joseph and Dorothy (Williams) Janiszewski. Mike married Elaine Marie Kawski on April 22, 1967 at St Joseph Parish, Stevens Point.

Mike worked at Joerns Health Care and retired in 2004, after 40 years of service. Family was important to him and he enjoyed baseball, softball, football, NASCAR, working on cars, hunting, fishing, and spending time with all his grand-doggies. Most important was his pride and joy “Jezebel“ his 1950 Ford F1 made by his own hands from the frame up. Mike enjoyed the Green Bay Packers but always cheered for the Chicago Bears.

He is survived by his wife Elaine (Kawski) Janiszewski and his daughters; Tammy (Donnie) Davis, Mary (Garry) Saeger, Tracy (Jimmy) Wojcik, Laura Janiszewski, and Brenda (Tracy) Gleason. Mike is also survived by his grandchildren Tyler, Morgan, Chyanne, Dylan, Aylissa, Kelsi, Zach, Hunter and Mitchell, his sister, Delores (Bill) Herz, his brother Tommy (Sherry) Janiszewski, and sister-in-law Susan Janiszewski.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Andy and many aunts and uncles.

A Special thank you to Doctor Myung Jung and staff at Marshfield Medical Center: Weston, Doctor Odedayo A. Onitilo: Stevens Point, and staff. Also special thank you to Jody Simcakoski, a great helping neighbor.

My heart is breaking for the Janiszewski family right now. I'm so sorry for your loss. Back when my daughter Kelly Mae was a baby, I would take her to Mike and Elaine's to babysit while I worked. I would take her there in the early morning hours, around 4:30am. Mike was always there to let me in, he was always so kind and cordial to me. The one thing I remember, he always had a smile for me, even at that time in morning. I can still see his smile to this day. Rest in peace Mike. Linda and Kelly Mae

Tammy, Tracy, Laura, Mary, Tyler and Dylan, I always looked forward to seeing Mike when I came home for a visit. We would sit together and talk and laugh at Tyler’s and Dylan’s baseball games. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. He will be missed very much. Our prayers go out to you and the rest of your family.
